Protection through knowledge

Every day, cybercriminals develop more sophisticated ways to attempt to access your private data. These threats are harder to detect, which is why awareness and protection are more important than ever.

  • It's important to know that unless you initiate contact with us directly, we will never ask you to provide your personal information, such as your account number, Social Security number, One Time Password (OTP), a two-factor authentication code used to login to your Online Banking Account, or user ID, through email, U.S. mail, live or automated phone call, or text message.
  • If you contact Carrollton Bank, we may request certain information to verify your identity. However, we will never ask for your password or your One Time Password (OTP).
  • If you receive any suspicious emails or phone calls claiming to be from Carrollton Bank and asking for your personal or account information, please do not respond and immediately contact us at (888) 533-1877.
  • All Carrollton Bank debit and credit cards have 24/7 fraud protection. If we spot potentially fraudulent charges on your account, we’ll text or email you and ask if the charge is legitimate. If no response is received, Carrollton Bank will call you at the number listed on your account.

Passwords

Each online banking user will be assigned a unique user code and password. Passwords should never be shared with anyone. A secure password is:

  • A combination of numbers, letters and special characters
  • Is at least 12 characters in length
  • Is not reused for other accounts

Please note, Carrollton Bank will never ask for your password.

Multi Factor Authentication

Carrollton Bank utilizes two-factor authentication. A One Time Password (OTP) is used to authenticate customers accessing their Online Banking Account. This security requirement helps prevent an unauthorized person from accessing your accounts.

Please note, Carrollton Bank will never ask you for your OTP.

Account Alerts

We believe security is a shared responsibility. Carrollton Bank uses a combination of mandatory and optional account alerts. You can enable optional account alerts to be notified when specific activity occurs on your account. It is recommended that you review optional account alerts regularly.

Security Reminders

For your banking security, please remember:

  • Never share or disclose or write down login and password information
